Emerald

Recognised by their rich, green hue these beautiful gems are part of the beryl group along with aquamarine and morganite. Rarely flawless, emeralds often have visible internal features, so clear specimens which are highly saturated with rich green tones are highly prized for their rarity. Traditionally the birthstone for May, the finest of emeralds can be found in Colombia, Zambia, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
