Terms and conditions of purchasing from Saunders and Pughe Limited (“Saunders & Pughe”)

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By using this web site, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions described below.

These terms and conditions govern your use of, and any purchase from, the Saunders & Pughe web site, and constitute a contract between you and Saunders & Pughe. Saunders & Pughe reserves the right to change or modify any of these terms and conditions at any time, and in its sole discretion. Any changes or modification will be effective immediately upon posting of the revisions on this site. Therefore, you should check before making a purchase.

Product availability and pricing

Our aim is to send you your order quickly and efficiently. Most pieces are available for despatch within 2 to 5 working days. However, please remember that some of the pieces will have to be individually made, just for you, and therefore delivery may take between 4 to 6 weeks. If you require something that bit sooner, or to meet a special deadline, then please email us at [email protected] to discuss your particular requirements.

Prices are quoted in Sterling and include Value Added Tax (VAT). In the unlikely event that a piece of jewellery is incorrectly priced we reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur but we cannot honour inaccurate or erroneous prices. If a product’s listed price is lower than its actual price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping the product or not accept the order and we shall notify you of such a situation.

Because of the nature of Gold and Silver we reserve the right to change our prices without notice. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. UK & International Shipments
Purchases made through our website may be shipped to addresses in the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

We are unfortunately not able to ship to other countries.

Value Added Tax
All prices on this website include VAT. The VAT amount is that attributable in the UK when the contract is made.

The UK VAT Retail Export Scheme which allows the VAT amount to be reimbursed to customers when they purchase goods in the EU and then export them outside the EU. However, orders from Saunders & Pughe are ineligible for the VAT Retail Export Scheme because Saunders & Pughe is an internet-based mail-order company and is ineligible to participate.

Payment Methods
For your convenience, we offer the following payment methods:

  • Credit cards: using your Visa, MasterCard, credit card through the medium of Swipe and PayPal. Both services are secure and safe way of making payments, and uses a secure server medium.
  • Bank transfer: Arrange payment through your bank please contact us at [email protected] for details.

Insurance
We fully insure each order. That means that your order shipment is always risk-free. For added security, we use Royal Mail special delivery, this service requires a signature upon delivery of your order. Please make arrangements for someone to be available at the shipping destination to sign for receipt.

Alternate Shipping Addresses
If you prefer, we can ship your order to an address other than your billing address. As a security precaution, you may find that your alternate shipping address be on file with your credit card company. This step helps protect you from fraudulent charges to your credit card.

Returns policy 

At Saunders & Pughe, we make every attempt to ensure that our online catalogue is as accurate and complete as possible. In order to give you the opportunity to view our products in great detail, some products may appear larger or smaller than their actual size in our photographs; and since every computer monitor is set differently, colour and size may vary slightly.

So, if for any reason, you are not satisfied with the jewellery that you have purchased, you may return the unused goods to us in perfect condition in the original packaging, within 14 days of purchase. The return of any goods will be your responsibility and at your risk, and we advise you take out your own insurance. We will be happy to offer you an exchange or refund for jewellery returned. However, for reasons of hygiene, earrings are non-returnable.

EXCHANGE OR REFUND POLICY ONLINE

If returning an online order for refund or exchange by post please request a return authorisation number within 14 days of receipt. Please write the number clearly on the outside of the package. The cost of any undamaged and unworn items correctly returned will be credited to the original purchasers credit card. Any shipping charges will not be refunded.

International custom duties and sales taxes are non-refundable for shipments outside the European Community (EU).

We recommend you use a Royal Mail special delivery service for your own protection. We cannot accept responsibility for postage fees or for any items damaged, lost or stolen in transit. Items must be in their original packaging if returned to us.

Policy on conflict free diamonds

At Saunders & Pughe, we only purchase diamonds through the largest and most respected suppliers who, like us, proudly adhere to and enforce the standards established by the Kimberley Process, an international system that polices the trade of diamonds to ensure they are from sources free of conflict

You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.

Legal Notices
Under no circumstances shall Saunders & Pughe be liable for any lost income, profits or wasted expenditure or indirect or consequential loss of any kind, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, or tort (including negligence).

Applicable Law
These terms and conditions and your use of this site will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
